The acronym IVF stands for In Vitro Fertilization, this is basically the fertilization that takes place inside of a laboratory and the process of joining the sperm from the man and the egg from the woman in done inside of a laboratory. The first step is to give the female special drugs that are meant to help her produce healthy eggs. This tells the ovaries to produce more than one egg per ovulation. Then the egg is surgically removed from the woman with a very simple procedure that is extremely easy to recover from.
Once the embryo culture is done, they will be placed inside the woman’s womb at least 3 to 5 days after the egg has been retrieved. This is done with a very thin tube that is inserted into the cervix through the vagina and all the way up to the womb. The end results should be an embryo sticking to the lining of the womb for pregnancy to be possible.
This is a procedure that has a very high rate of success with women who can’t seem to get pregnant from having regular sexual encounters with their partners. It continues to provide a great option that has made it possible for a large number of women to get pregnant.
